Your Bristol city guide!

By FreshSocial 08 Oct 2018

Bristol has more than enough quirks and interesting places to keep you busy exploring during your time here!

If you're new to the area and still aren't sure where the best hangouts are, our city guide will show you just some of the places you need to visit in Bristol.

If you're ever in the mood for shopping, Bristol Shopping Quarter is where to head to. It's got everything you could possibly need - big names, quirky independent boutiques, banks, hairdressers and much more. Bristol has a huge student population, so you're guaranteed to get student discount. Never leave the house without your student card!

Ok, you've got at least 3 years in Bristol and you can't live there without a visit to Clifton Suspension Bridge. It's the biggest landmark in your new hometown and if the weather is in your favour (fingers crossed) then it's a great place to visit. Head there at night and you'll get a great Instagrammable shot!

Another Instagrammable spot to visit is the Banksy Graffiti Tour. Seen as Bristol is Banksy's hometown, you can imagine how amazing the street art is - you might have even spotted some already. Either way, make sure you check out some of the UK's best graffiti and be quick before it's painted over!

Who said you're too old for a game of bowling? For a cheap and fun night out that doesn't involve drinking, head to The Lanes. As a student, it costs only £3 per person before 5pm or £5 after that. You can also have a go at karaoke or just enjoy some of their pizza whilst you're there if you're in the mood for it!

You might have seen or heard about trampoline parks before BUT AirHop is the world's biggest and best. It's ridiculously fun; there are basketball hoops, dodgeball and a foam pit so you can easily spend an hour there (or more) being a big kid. It'll be the best £10 you'll spend and feels like a workout at the same time. In a good way, of course...

If you're ever in the mood for a bit of street food, Bristol has more than enough to offer. Head to St. Nicholas Market on Tuesday's and Friday's to try everything from Italian to Brazilian food. Eat A Pitta and Caribbean Wrap are amazing and super affordable but go and explore for yourself to discover your new favourites!

Sometimes you just need that sweet treat and this will hit just the spot! When the weather is on your side, pop into Swoon. Be prepared to queue though because they easily sell the best gelato in Bristol AND it's vegan-friendly so everyone wants a scoop (or three).

What are you waiting for? Get exploring!
