What I thought of 'Killing Eve'
BBC dramas never seem to fail, so when I heard about the new series 'Killing Eve', I just had to watch it.
So to just give you some background and bring you up to speed...
Killing Eve is a cat-and-mouse spy story involving two women, Eve, an American woman who works for MI5 in London and Villanelle, a young assassin who loves her work. Eve is set on a case to find out who the culprits are to a string of killings, which she believes are all linked and performed by one individual. Her hunch of this solo serial killer is then to be ignored by her ignorant bosses, but to cut a long story short, Eve was right and is hired undercover of the MI5 to hunt down who this untraceable killing machine is.
After a lot of intriguing detective work (only the kind of crazy spy stuff MI5 could do) Eve believes Villanelle is the missing piece to the puzzle of unexplained murders. Villanelle is informed someone is onto her and they both set out on a mission to find each other, later twisting into some bizarre obsession they have for one another.
Why you should watch it
You should watch this because if you love nothing more than a thrilling series then this will be right up your street. At times there were strange moments of humour, either from Eve having a discussion with her husband to decide whether they were "too knackered" to have sex, or when Villanelle teases someone who she is about to kill.
Villanelles creepy and coldblooded ways will leave you so freaked out. Jodie Comer (Villanelle) plays this actor scarily well, her blasé attitude of killing and how much she enjoys it will send shivers down your spine - a real sociopath. At moments of this series I was so gripped I was screaming at the television and on the edge of my seat but was expected because as I said, BBC dramas never disappoint.
The finale, was it worth it?
Along with the rest of the series the finale is just as weird and gripping as the rest, without giving away the ending, it was everything that I wanted from it and best of all leaves you on a cliff hanger, which means one thing.... ANOTHER SERIES! Well, hopefully...
All 8 episodes are available BBC iPlayer, so perfect to binge watch, but make sure you have full concentration, this fast pace series will leave you clueless if you don't keep track of who's who and what has happened in each episode.
Enjoy, but avoid searching for on social media because you don't want to spoil it for yourself but it's definitely worth a watch!
