Whether you've lived in Britain all your life or this is your first British summer, you should make the most of it...
You've probably noticed by now, but us Brits don't get much sun (or decent weather at all) so when we do, we make a fuss about it!
Here are our suggestions for how you can have the best British summer EVER:
- Hit up a festival
You really wouldn't be having the full British summer experience without hitting up one of the many festivals across the UK. You can see your favourite artists and go all out with people from all over the world - winner! Why not give Tramlines, Sheffield's very own inner-city music festival a go?
- Hop on the bus or train
Get some tickets and take the National Express, Megabus or train to any city. Spend the day exploring the streets, taking in the history and tasting the local delicacies. That's a must before you leave!
- Head to the shore
Find the closest beach and get yourself some classic British fish and chips. Make sure you dip your toes in the sea and get an ice cream cone too, or just cover yourself in sand and end up looking just like Joey...
- Soak up some sun in a beer garden
If you want a soda or prefer a pint, grab some friends and find a lovely beer garden right here in Sheffield. Enjoy time with your friends and being out in the sun - hopefully.
- Indulge in some Afternoon Tea
Tea, coffee, cakes and crumpets! Is there anything better than an afternoon of treats and Britain's favourite hot beverage? Need some inspo? Check out some of our favourite places in Sheffield.
- BBQ in the park
Grab a disposable bbq, burgers and speakers for your music and enjoy kicking a football around with your friends. You really can't have a British summer without a bbq in the park. Endcliffe Park, Graves Park, Millhouses Park & Norfolk Heritage Park are all great options!
- Jet off to Europe
You don't have to limit yourself to Britain - with cheap train and flight tickets you could dash off to Europe and enjoy the beach and diverse cultures!
