A Guide to Aberdeen Online during Lock Down
Moved back home and missing Aberdeen? Currently in lock down and still want to experience the city? We've got you sorted!
You can still experience the city and utilize local resources from the comfort and safety of your own home. We've put together some info to help you stay connected and part of the community in Aberdeen and Shire.
Aberdeen City Library
Since the lock down started, all of Aberdeen City public libraries have been closed to the public. However, you can still access loads of material, including e-books and audio books, through their online catalog here. Aberdeen City Libraries have focused on increasing the number of digital resources available to library users. These include RB Digital for eAudiobooks and eComics; hundreds of new titles available on BorrowBox; and exclusive remote home access to Ancestry UK. There is also online Bookbug sessions on the YouTube Channel for families who usually attend the weekly events at local libraries.
Live Life Aberdeenshire
Live Life Aberdeenshire usually deliver innovative approaches to Sport and Cultural Services on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council. As their venues are now closed due to the lock down, they have now been delivering virtual activities, creativity and culture online via Live Life @ Home.

Aberdeen Live Webcams
You can see the sights of Aberdeen from your home via the Live Webcams on the Aberdeen City Council Website. There are four webcams that capture, Aberdeen Beach from the Beach Ballroom, Broad Street, Castle Gate and Union Street from the top of the Town House.
You can also try and spot the Dolphins on the webcams looking over Aberdeen Harbour and the North Sea on the Seacroft Marine Consultants Website.
Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Museums Online
Although venues are closed at the moment, you can still take tours and browse objects in Museums and Galleries across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Take a tour of Aberdeen Art Gallery or search the Museum and Gallery collections in Aberdeenshire.
Old Maps of Aberdeenshire
You can view old maps of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and beyond on the website oldmapsonline.org
