Our FRESHers week bucket list!
On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you to move to university?
Whether you've got a week or a fortnight to get yourself settled in, you’re only a Fresher once so make sure it goes off with a bang!
How much of our bucket list will you complete?
Go on a Freshers Fair freebie haul: With everything from stationery to food on offer, challenge your flatmates to see who can come back with the greatest selection. Look out for the free food, that's easily the best one.
Sign up to AT LEAST one club or society: There’s only one rule - you can’t have tried it before, so the more random the better! You'll have sports and active choices, funny things and things relate to your course too.
Make an international friend: Whether this is in your accommodation or on a night out, get chatting and learn something about them and their culture. You could make a friend for life too so it's good to break out of your comfort zone.
Find your new favourite coffee spot: You’ll be needing to keep those energy levels up somehow! Sometimes you can break away from your budget and treat yourself to your favourite hot beverage.
Get lost: Whilst exploring your new hometown you’re guaranteed to get lost a couple of times but don't panic, it’s all part of the adventure.
Take LOADS of pictures: They will make hilarious memories to look back at once it’s all over and when its someone's birthday, you can post embarrassing photos of them all over social media. Expect it in return though...
Create a flat WhatsApp group: How else are you going to send all those pictures you've been taking every 10 minutes? Extra points for an inventive name, none of this 'Flat 302' malarkey counts.
Make a flat Spotify playlist: You might meet a couple of people in your flat that have the same music taste as you but most of you will all be into different types of music so set up a playlist for everyone to contribute to. It's a great icebreaker too!
Meet someone on a different course: Break out of your circle and take part in society socials, Freshers’ events or chat on social media - you never know who you'll meet...
Try some new food: Now is your chance to rustle up something you’ve never tried before or ask to share dishes with your flatmates if you fancy the look of what they're having for dinner.
See how many of these you get ticked off. If you manage anything else, that's just a bonus!
