Not sure what to do with your summer?

By FreshSocial 28 Mar 2017

Despite impending exams and coursework, some of you will be already by thinking ahead and deciding what to do for summer...

And, whether you're stuck on a budget, looking to splash out or need to work to climb back into your credit, there are a number of things you can do to make this summer unforgettable!

Here are our favourites!

  • Go interrailing
Fancy travelling to Italy? Belgium? Poland? Hell, explore the whole of Europe! Whether you want city or sand, or a nice mix of the two, get your pass now and get planning your itinerary.
  • Go to a festival
Rock the shorts and wellies combo and trudge through the mud to catch a headline act. For alternative music hit Leeds or Reading, for dance, Lovebox and Wireless, and for the big pop names, get to Glastonbury or V Fest.
  • Or, work at one?
Home or abroad, if you've struggled to get tickets (or you can't afford them) then apply to be a steward instead! You'll get to see some world-class acts and make some pretty cool friends while you're there. Check out OxfamAction Aid & Festaff NOW.
  • Road trip around the UK
A group of friends, the open road and a tonne of sea and sights to see. Sounds very chill to me...without tickets, travel insurance and a strict itinerary to deal with.
  • Center Parcs
Get out and active with a group of your pals by cycling around in nature, taking a plunge in the pool and racing down the rapids. Active holidays not your thing? Get a cabin with a hot tub and relax instead (or just hit the spa).
  • Work at a summer camp
Home or abroad, kid's camps are a great way to spend your summer. Get paid to play rounders, splash around in a pool, while building a pretty impressive tan...working hard or hardly working? Take a look at Camp America or King's Camp to get started. Oh yeah, and if you hit the states you can travel after!
  • Take on a challenge
Do something amazing and adventurous this summer. You could Go Ape, race to Escape, take on Tough Mudder, or raise money while you Race for Life.
  • Relax on a beach
If you want simple, relaxing, and not-too-expensive after a stressy exam period, book yourself a flight to one of the Balearic or Canary Islands! Check Skyscanner for the best deals, and find the perfect place for you and your pals to stay with Airbnb!
