New to Bournemouth?
Been in Bournemouth a few months and not really sure what the town has to offer?
Well, here is everything you need to know about this bustling town:
1. Bournemouth Beach
This southern seaside town has miles of sandy beaches surrounded by majestic cliffs. Along the Bournemouth Pier, you can push yourself to the limit if you're the active type with indoor climbing at Rock Reef and ziplining over the water at Pier Zip. You'll also discover an eco-friendly 18-hole mini golf but it doesn't stop there because on the seafront Bournemouth has an oceanarium complete with a penguin enclosure!
2. The Gardens
If walking is your thing then you've got the Upper, Lower and Central Gardens which have lots of exciting events throughout the year. Only a stone's throw away from the town centre, they are perfect all year round, from sunbathing and picnics in summer and crisp walks in winter. Want to know the best thing of all? It doesn't cost a penny!
This cosmopolitan destination is well-known for its nightlife and restaurants. The town centre has plenty of small independent restaurants along with well-known chains. Charminster is only a short walk from the train station and is home to numerous multi-cultural restaurants if you want something a bit different, Lansdowne also has some really interesting restaurants and plenty of bars offering student deals!
Want to shop till you drop? No problem, Bournemouth's got it all! The town centre offers high street shops with a mix of department stores and independent boutiques like the Quadrant Centre. But if that's not enough, then Bournemouth is home to the UK's largest shopping park Castlepoint, offering everything from fashion and beauty to DIY and homeware and everything in between. You'll be sure to drop after that shop!

The Pavilion Theatre is THE venue for all sorts of entertainment in Bournemouth including West End shows, Opera, Comedy Nights and Pantomimes. Along with the Bournemouth International Centre which plays host to the latest concerts, gigs, and events, so make sure you keep an eye out for what's on. If the big screen is more your thing then head to BH2 Leisure's Odeon and choose from the 10 surrounding restaurants too! Bournemouth also has the first 6D cinema in the UK, so experience films like you never have before!
Due to the range of fantastic venues (indoor and out) there are numerous festivals throughout the year which sets Bournemouth apart from any other British seaside town. A few of these are; Bournemouth Air Festival, Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival and not forgetting the Christmas market and ice rink!
