Sometimes you need a change of scenery, especially when you're studying...
Your uni library might be great but why not mix it up and head to a public library instead? There are some pretty cool ones in the UK!
Here is a list of our favourites:
Library of Birmingham
Europe's biggest public library instantly catches your eye. You should check it out if you're studying in Birmingham or just visiting the city. With plenty of study space, a museum, café and a roof terrace in this modern building, you'd be silly not to go.
John Rylands Library, Manchester
Just outside of Manchester city centre you'll find John Rylands which is basically a real-life Hogwarts, making it a perfect photo-op! It's a beautiful building that should definitely be on your list of places to visit in the UK.
The Codrington Library, Oxford
The historic building has high ceilings and beautiful decor throughout and is exactly how a traditional British library should look! Grab your laptop, headphones and find yourself a comfortable spot and start revising.
Liverpool Central Library
With 22 libraries in Liverpool, you're spoilt for choice but the Central Library is easily the biggest. It has a perfect balance between modern and traditional and has thousands of books for your every need!
Wellcome Library, Euston
This quirky library is small but cosy and will make a great edgy pic to post on Insta. Head to the Reading Room if you want to get your head down to get your essay finished or you have a group presentation to prepare for.
Edinburgh Central Library
It may not look too special from the outside but once you step inside, this library is amazing! Your free membership lets you take out 12 books for 3 weeks and trust us, there are more than enough books to keep you occupied.
Bodleian Library & Radcliffe Camera, Oxford
Another Oxford library that's also appeared in a Harry Potter film! You have a choice of computers, books and shared or silent study spaces. Oh, and make sure you take a nice picture outside to prove you've been in the same place as Daniel Radcliffe and co - just bear in mind it's usually pretty busy!
