Eating Disorder Awareness Week

By sophiebk 25 Feb 2019

This week is Eating Disorders Awareness week.

There are lots of preconceptions about eating disorders and what type of person struggles with them, but eating disorders can affect anyone. No question.

BEAT is the UK’s eating disorder charity and their Eating Disorder Awareness campaign for this year is focusing on breaking down these preconceptions. Their research has found that this stigma can stop people finding help and they want to make sure everyone knows where to go if they're struggling, and that you're not alone.

If you think you may have an eating disorder you can see advice from BEAT here.

If you think someone you know may have an eating disorder, here’s some advice from BEAT on how to help.

There is also plenty of support for eating disorders around Liverpool as well as the university's Student Welfare support teams.
