3 Places to Visit around the Midlands

By Mohammad 23 Apr 2018

Leicester city is in the heart of the country meaning that most places aren’t too far to visit. The Midlands is the area in the middle of the country which isn’t quite North or South and is filled with history and culture.

Here are 3 places you should definitely check out whilst at uni...

1) Birmingham
Birmingham is located just under an hours train journey away is one of the major cities in the UK. Home to Cadbury World; National Sea Life Centre and the famous Bull Ring shopping centre, Birmingham provides plenty of things to do and see and is definitely worth a visit.

2) Nottingham
Known for its role in the Robin Hood legend, Nottingham is a goldmine of medieval culture. Nottingham is also home to the Motorpoint arena if you want to see a concert/gig. The city is also full with quirky bars and a great night life, perfect place for a night or two away from Leicester and only 30 minutes away on the train.

3) Peak District
Just two hours away is one of the most beautiful areas our country has to offer, the Peak District in Derbyshire. With lots of opportunity to camp and go hiking, this is a must see experience for all people who enjoy the outdoors.

With a 16-25 Railcard, you can travel for cheaper too so make the most of it whilst you can!
