Festival season is upon us - finally! Time to let off some steam after all the deadlines, revision and exams.
Whether you're about to lose your festival virginity or you're a veteran, there are some typical things you can expect to see at whatever music festival you go to...
- Waking up fresh and excited!
You were up all night on your Whatsapp group talking last minute bits and bobs, and now the day that has been months in the planning is finally here!
- Making friends with your neighbours
Once you've struggled to put your tent up, you'll make some campsite mates that will be your besties when you're having a night time sing-a-long and your saviours when you run out of toilet roll or baby wipes.
- Losing the ones you came with!
You'll turn your back for two seconds and they will wander off. Arrange a meeting point so you know where to go because your phone might die and you'll struggle to get any signal!
- Missing your favourite artist
The ONE person you looked forward to seeing for months will probably be playing whilst queuing for the loo or dancing away in another tent. Try to avoid it, but if not don't worry...
- Discovering your new favourite band/artist
Someone you've never heard of before will have an amazing performance or a ridiculously catchy song that will stick with you until the festival is over. Plus, it'll always take you back to your happy place!
- Queuing for pretty much everything!
British people absolutely love to queue. You'll queue to get inside, for a drink, for something to eat, for the toilet - but make some mates in the queue and before you know it you'll be at the front.
- Glitter, face paints and floral headbands EVERYWHERE
The typical festival 'look' tried by girls all over the country and even the world, no matter the festival. It gives off the ultimate festival, hippy vibe, so girls and guys get involved - peace and love!
- Unpredictable festival fashion
Some wear fancy dress, some plan their outfits so that they're always Insta-ready and others wear the same hoody, shorts and wellies the whole festival. Which one will you be?
- Unpredictable weather
One day you could get sunburnt and the next your tent might get flooded. Prepare for the joys of the British summer and pack a mixture - you don't want to be the one wearing shorts in the middle of a thunderstorm!
- Expensive food and drink
Who doesn't love overpriced food and drink? You probably will when you first arrive and then realise you can't afford it your whole time at the festival, so your other option will be...
- Eating weird food
You'll try to make the random food you brought with you last. But this could include weird combos like sausage rolls for breakfast and cold baked beans for dinner. Well, whatever happens at a festival stays there - right?
- Living in a festival bubble
Everything will be so much fun that you'll forget about everyone back at home! Your phone probably died a few hours after you arrived, you haven't watched any Snapchat stories, you're just making the most of it with your little festival family.
- An emotional rollercoaster
Whilst at the festival you will feel exhausted, hungry, angry, happy, excited and more. You'll have the ultimate post festival blues when it's over, but the LAST thing you want to do is go back to the real world.
